Members and committees

Reads the current Members, their parties, seats and posts, the list of committees and who sits on each one, from the ModernGov web service, and the committees' Welsh names from the Welsh-language ModernGov pages.
Read 96 current Members, 210 committees and 238 committee places.
Changes of party
Completed
Applies the changes of party in the Seventh Senedd that we record from published sources, so each Member's speeches and votes count for the party they belonged to at the time.

Record of Proceedings

Finds meetings from the last 28 days in the Record's XML export and imports each transcript in both languages, with every vote. A transcript is imported again only when the published version has changed.

Known gaps
What is missing or incomplete at the moment, worked out from the data.
- Committee names are in English only: none of the 48 committees we show has a Welsh name in our data yet, so the Welsh pages show them in English.
- 131,008 of the 131,193 committee contributions made in English have no Welsh translation in the Record, so the Welsh pages show them in English.
- 116 contributions made in Welsh have no English translation in the Record, so the English pages show them in Welsh.
- Written questions and answers are collected in English only for now, so the Welsh pages show them in English.
- 4 of the 38 Members' posts have no Welsh title.
- 36 meetings that have already been held don't have a transcript in our data yet.
- 3 of the 887 committee meetings with a transcript have no attendance record.
- 564 allowance claims couldn't be matched to a Member by name, so they don't appear on any Member's page.
- The transcripts of 28 meetings couldn't be fetched last time. They will be tried again.
Our collector
The pipeline identifies itself to the Senedd's websites as OpenSeneddBot, with a link to this page. It makes only a few requests at a time to each site, spaces them out, and waits before trying again when a site is busy. If it causes you a problem, email feedback@datblygu.cymru.
