Opinion polls

How people in Wales have said they would vote in a Senedd election, poll by poll, with the results of the 2021 and 2026 elections to compare them with.

Changes are in percentage points since the election on 7 May 2026.

Until 2021 everyone had two votes in a Senedd election: one for a constituency Member and one for a party's regional list. Under the Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Act 2024 there is a single vote, for a party list or an independent candidate, in each of 16 constituencies that elect six Members. Polls up to September 2023 asked about the two old votes and polls from June 2024 ask about the single vote, so the two sets are shown separately.

A poll is a snapshot of what a sample of people said when it was taken. Every figure has a margin of error of a few points either way, so a small change between two polls may mean nothing. Pollsters also word their questions and weight their samples differently.

About these figures

  • We list a poll only when we could check its figures against the pollster's own tables or release, the client's release, or a news report of the release. Polls we could not check are left out.
  • An MRP model estimates the result in every constituency from a large sample. Its all-Wales figures are the model's central estimate, and we give no sample size unless the pollster published an exact one.
  • Election results are shares of the valid votes cast. The 2021 result appears twice: the regional list vote with the list polls and the constituency vote with the constituency figures.
  • Every row links to the source we checked it against.
