Terms of sale: briefings
Who you're buying from
Briefings are sold by Datblygu Cyf, which runs Open Senedd. You can contact us at feedback@datblygu.cymru.
What you're buying
You buy credits. Each credit pays for one briefing on a subject you choose, written from Open Senedd's record of the Senedd. It is written in English or Welsh, whichever you choose when you order. We email the briefing to you as a PDF and keep a copy in your account for you to download.
A credit costs £10, or £50 for a pack of six. The price you pay is the price shown when you buy. Datblygu Cyf isn't registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged. Credits don't expire.
When a briefing starts
A briefing starts being written as soon as you order it. When you buy, you ask us to supply it straight away and agree that you lose your right to cancel a briefing once it has started.
Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel a purchase within 14 days and get your money back for any credits you haven't used. Email us with the date of the purchase.
If we can't write a useful briefing on your subject, for example because there isn't enough in the Senedd's record, we'll tell you and return your credit automatically.
If a briefing is faulty, for example it isn't about the subject you asked for or the file doesn't open, tell us and we'll put it right or return your credit. This doesn't affect your legal rights.
What a briefing is
Briefings are drawn from the Senedd's record: debates, committee evidence, written questions, votes, Bills, petitions and statements, with the Welsh budget where it applies. They are written with the help of AI, and every point is checked against its sources before the briefing is sent. Each point is referenced so you can read the source yourself.
A briefing is a summary of the public record. It isn't legal, financial or professional advice. Check the sources before relying on a point for an important decision.
Using your briefing
You can use, share and quote your briefing within your organisation and beyond, as long as you credit Open Senedd. The Senedd material it quotes is Senedd Commission copyright, reused under its terms.
Your information
We keep the subject you ask about, your email address and your briefings so we can deliver them and you can download them again. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details. If you delete your account, your orders and briefings are deleted. We keep a record of each purchase for as long as the law requires for our accounts.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
