Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill: Evidence session with the Independent Remuneration Board of the Senedd
I appreciate that you've just provided, effectively, the determination, and said, 'Do you think that these assumptions that are then being made might be fair?' But one of the assumptions that the regulatory impact assessment makes is about the number of…

Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill: Evidence session with the Independent Remuneration Board of the Senedd
Can I just challenge a little bit on this? Because, of course, the Bill when it was published, or introduced—shouldn't it have been based on the 2023-24 determination, the outcome of which was known at the time?

Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill: Evidence session with the Independent Remuneration Board of the Senedd
I mean, you know the direction of travel, if you like, in terms of the issues that the remuneration board is considering, in advance of the next Senedd. Are they still likely to be a fair reflection of the estimated costs, or not?

And those figures were predicted on the basis of the 2022-23 determination, weren't they?

Senedd Cymru (Members and Elections) Bill: Evidence session with the Independent Remuneration Board of the Senedd
Thank you, Chair, and thank you for coming to give evidence today. Can I just ask you to what extent you've been involved in helping the Government to predict the costs of this legislation, as far as the additional Members and the additional resources for…

Statement by Sam Rowlands—Introduction of a Member-proposed Bill: Residential Outdoor Education (Wales) Bill
Can I just say how much I support this Bill? I think it's a disgrace, frankly, that people are using the fact that there is going to need to be an investment in outdoor education not to allow this Bill to proceed. We all know that the Welsh Government's own…

Questions to the Minister for Education and the Welsh Language
I'm very, very pleased to hear that that requirement is in the new curriculum. One aspect of local history that is often overlooked, and was the topic of discussion at a recent cross-party group meeting on the armed forces and cadets, is our local military…

I think there is a genuine point about people who are living in flats. The situation in Cardiff, for example, at the moment, is that everybody has a green bag with all of the recyclables mixed in that bag, and we stick it down a chute in the apartment complex…

Statement by the Minister for Economy: Economic Mission: Priorities for a Stronger Economy
Minister, we thought you were going to make some sort of new, shiny announcement today. We've heard absolutely nothing new at all in anything that you've said. I made a note of all of the industries that you mentioned, by the way, in your document that was…

Business Statement and Announcement
Trefnydd, can I call for two statements this week? Can I have a statement from the Minister with responsibility for apprenticeships in Wales and work-based learning? I had a meeting with Coleg—not Coleg Cambria, what's the other one—Coleg Llandrillo in my…

Chair, I'm happy to note those. Can I just check—? Obviously, I wasn't here last week, for which I tabled my apologies and a substitute was provided, but I am keen, obviously, still to ensure that there is an invitation extended to both the First Minister and…

Can I just follow this up? So, one of the questions that has been asked is in relation to the length of terms—I know we discussed it earlier—four years with another four years renewal. Would it be better just to have a single eight-year term?

It does seem very large. I note that the quorum is only going to be three. You said you were happy with a quorum of three earlier on. Well, if you can get by in a meeting with three people, why do you need nine?

Interestingly, I notice that the explanatory memorandum refers to there being nine commissioners on the face of the Bill, not the seven on the Bill, but that's just a note for us to consider as a committee. Was there ever any discussion about that?
