Question
How many arms-length bodies receive Welsh Government funding and what is the annual cost of maintaining them?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Finance (Elin Jones)
The list of current arm’s length bodies is available on gov.wales at https://www.gov.wales/register-devolved-public-bodies: this also includes local authorities and NHS bodies. The Welsh Government awards funding to arm’s length bodies and statutory office holders to deliver against ministerial commitments, including support for running costs as necessary, as shown in the budget documents also on gov.wales at https://www.gov.wales/welsh-government-budgets.
