Question
Will the Welsh Government review the effectiveness of the apprenticeship levy?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education (Cefin Campbell)
The Apprenticeship Levy is a UK-wide tax set by the UK Government and collected by HMRC. Welsh Government does not receive individual employer levy contributions directly. Changes to, and any formal review of, the Apprenticeship Levy are matters for the UK Government.
We keep apprenticeship policy and funding arrangements in Wales under regular review, including the implications of developments relating to the Apprenticeship Levy and the Growth and Skills Levy.
