Question
What plans does the Welsh Government have to change planning law so that planning permission is required for new adult gaming centres which offer 24-hour access to gambling machines, as is being proposed for England?
Answer
Answered by Cabinet Minister for Local Government, Housing and Planning (Siân Gwenllian)
In Wales, adult gaming centres are already in their own use class, falling within the Sui Generis classification. This gives planning authorities the power to apply local development plan policies to control new adult gaming centres where justified by evidence.
