Question
What consideration has the Cabinet Minister given to the findings of its independent call for evidence conducted in March 2026 on the environmental impacts of gamebird releases which was intended to inform consideration of a potential future licensing regime?

Environment Platform Wales, which was commissioned to undertake the review, is expected to submit its final report shortly. The report will be considered alongside wider evidence, legal and scientific advice, before any decisions are taken on the potential introduction of a licensing regime. Any future proposals will be developed in light of the available evidence and will be proportionate, effective and consistent with the Welsh Government's objectives for biodiversity conservation and sustainable land management.
