Question
How is the Welsh Government engaging with the Scottish Government regarding the implementation of its commitment to introduce Cynnal payments?
Answer
Answered by Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality (Sioned Williams)
We are engaging closely with the Scottish Government as we develop our Programme for Government commitment to pilot the Cynnal payment.
On 2 September I met with Shirley-Anne Somerville, Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice and Housing, Scottish Government to discuss child poverty and the child payment. Officials have also met with Scottish Government policy officials, Social Security Scotland and those involved in evaluating the Scottish Child Payment to learn from their experience of developing, delivering and assessing the impact of the payment.
