Question
What representations has the Minister made to the UK Government regarding the need to protect the Welsh agricultural sector as part of any possible future UK-Australia free trade deal?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Rural Affairs and North Wales, and Trefnydd
My officials have worked alongside industry stakeholders to identify the potential impacts on Welsh lamb and beef producers. This has underpinned my clear representations to the UK Government for appropriate safeguards to ensure we maintain the same high standards Welsh farmers already operate to.
