Written question WQ82628

A real living wage for social care staff will be among our chief priorities during this term. We want to create a stronger and better paid workforce which will be the bedrock for us to deliver better services.

We are very clear that our plans for this will be worked up in social partnership. We are fortunate in social care that we have the Social Care Fair Work Forum and we will be looking to the Forum to support us with this commitment, in particular ensuring that the funding we provide reaches the pockets of social care workers.

The Government has committed to introducing the Real Living Wage for social care workers within this Senedd term and further information on the plan for taking the commitment forward, including how we will work with the Forum, will be made available before the summer recess.
