Question
What is the Welsh Government doing to increase the supply of local affordable housing in Pembrokeshire?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
We are investing a record £250m to support Social Housing during 2021-22, which is almost double the level of funding during 2020-21. This investment reaffirms our commitment set out in the Programme for Government, published on 14 June, to deliver 20,000 new low carbon homes for rent in the social sector.
Pembrokeshire’s Social Housing Grant (SHG) allocation for 2021-22 is £10m, which is also almost double what they received in 2020-21. In 2020-21 Pembrokeshire received £5.7m SHG for affordable housing schemes. This included over £5.4m in the Preseli constituency supporting the build of 162 new homes.
