Question
Will the Minister explain why singing in an organised group is allowed indoors while congregational singing should still be avoided, and outline the evidence for this decision?
Answer
Answered by First Minister (Mark Drakeford)
I am pleased to say that following a review of the scientific evidence the guidance was updated on the 18th June to allow congregational singing with mitigations. The guidance can be found here; https://gov.wales/guidance-reopening-places-worship-coronavirus
The Technical Advisory Cell prepared a paper on evidence related singing as part of the review of the guidance. This paper is due to be published shortly. When it is, it will be published on this site; Technical Advisory Cell | GOV.WALES
