Question
Will the Minister outline whether Natural Resources Wales is looking to introduce a mobile application to report potential pollution incidents, as a means of easily gathering photographic and location evidence?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
People can now report potential environmental incidents to Natural Resources Wales (NRW) using an online form on the NRW website. The form works on mobile phones, tablets and on desktops. There is the facility to upload photos, details of location and answer specific questions which help NRW gather evidence about potential incidents.
Over 900 people have already used the online form to report an incident, since it went live at the end of April 2021.
There are currently no plans to invest in developing a specific application or ‘app’ for mobile phones. However, NRW will continue to monitor feedback and look to continuously improve the services they provide through their website.
