Will the Minister outline the timetable for the second planned short consultation on animal exhibits?

As you are aware significant activity was undertaken on these proposed regulations including full public consultations. A summary of responses is available at www.gov.wales/animal-exhibits.

This issue is referenced specifically in the recently published Programme for government 2021 to 2026 | GOV.WALES on page 21.

Discussions are now ongoing on how to deliver the commitments within the Programme for Government and, taking into account priorities across Welsh Government departments, possible timings for future work.

As ever we will continue to work closely with key stakeholders on this issue and my officials meet regularly with both the Animal Welfare Network Wales and the Companion Animal Welfare Group Wales.
