*This comprises PCSOs funded directly by the Welsh Government as well as those funded through core police budgets.
During the period April 2016 to March 2021 the Welsh Government spent £101.4 million for the training and employment of PCSOs across Wales.
In our Programme for Government we have committed to maintain the funding of 500 Police Community Support Officers and expand their number by 100. We are engaging with the police on the recruitment and deployment of the extra 100.
