Question
Will the Minister outline the steps which have been undertaken in the last six months to reduce the administrative burden on local authorities in regards to the planning process?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
The Welsh Government is aware of the pressures placed upon local planning authorities (LPAs) as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Steps have been taken to reduce administrative pressures where possible, including introducing temporary permitted development rights (removing planning applications from the system) and providing flexibility in respect of the preparation and submission of Annual Performance Reports for 2020-2021.
