Question
What plans does the Welsh Government have with regard to reducing the use of peat across gardening and horticulture in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
We are working alongside the UK Government to consult on the ban of the sale of peat in compost. Whilst there is no current commercial peat extraction in Wales, preventing sales of peat compost is in line with our Well-being of Future Generations Act commitment to be globally responsible.
