Question
What steps is the Welsh Government taking to make it a requirement for houses in Wales to have an electric charging point installed, as the UK Government are doing in England?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
The Electric Vehicle Charging Strategy sets out our approach to facilitating the role of electric vehicles and infrastructure. The supporting action plan, published in October 2021, commits us to review the building regulations to support the provision of home and workplace charging across Wales for both refurbishment and new build projects. The full details of the proposals will be subject to consultation published in due course.
