Question
How many discussions has the Minister had with the UK Secretary of State for Transport regarding rail connectivity between South Wales and England in the last 12 months?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
I have not met the Secretary of State for Transport within the last 12 months regarding rail connectivity between South Wales and England. I have however met with Baroness Vere, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport to discuss the union connectivity review on two occasions. In these meetings, I pressed for details of any additional funding that may become available to implement the report’s recommendations, especially related to the strategic rail corridors in South Wales and North Wales.
