Question
What is the Government doing in the intermediate period to mitigate the noise pollution for residents along the A449 whilst the Government enact its replanting plan over winter 2022?

The A449 has not been designated a priority area as defined in the Noise and Soundscape Action Plan for Wales 2018-23, and noise mitigation is not currently being considered for this route. Vegetation has been removed as essential safety management of the soft estate and replanting is planned for winter 2022-23, however, vegetation is not considered to be a reliable form of noise barrier, and therefore, temporary mitigation is not deemed to be required.
