Question
How many buildings have been identified as having fire and other safety defects further to information gathered by the building safety passport scheme to date, broken down by local authority, building size and tenure?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
We have received 258 expressions of interest to date. Digital surveys have been carried out for all of these, which includes assessing existing building condition information and fire risk assessments, other evidence and survey reports. Where information and evidence is unavailable, out of date, incomplete or raises concerns about fire safety risk those buildings have been identified for further intrusive survey work. To date, 161 buildings have been identified for further intrusive surveys.
Intrusive survey work began on the 1 March and will continue over the summer.
Until all surveys have been completed, we will be unable to provide an update on the total number of buildings which have been identified as having fire safety defects.
Please see below a breakdown of the 161 buildings that are having further intrusive survey work by local authority area. All buildings in this list are 11m and more in height.
