Question
What account did the Minister take of the potential to attract bidders in deciding on the allocated budget for underground works to prevent future flooding in Parc Radur, Cardiff?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
The identification and design of flood risk management assets is the responsibility of the Risk Management Authority, in this case Cardiff Council. They are also responsible for the procurement of the works in line with their own procurement policies.
Cardiff Council have been awarded funding for a small scale scheme at Drovers Way, Radyr, Cardiff. This is to support work to a culverted watercourse by designing and building an attenuation area to connect to a Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water asset.
Welsh Government is providing record levels of funding this financial year to support risk management authorities across Wales to support the delivery of FCERM measures to help protect our communities from the risks and impacts of flooding and sea-level rise.
