Question

Will the Minister provide a breakdown of the prevalence of (a) alcohol-related liver disease (b) non-alcohol related liver disease by health boards?

The data requested are not held centrally by the Welsh Government. Data showing the number of admissions by primary diagnosis are published by Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) in its Patient Episode Database for Wales (PEDW) tables. Specifically, the ‘Principle procedure…’ tables give data at increasing levels of detail, from summary level to 3-character and 4-character ICD10 codes.

Data on disease prevalence among the population at large are not available.
