Question
What has the Welsh Government done to help charities like Cats Protection deal with the growing challenge of pets being sold online and not properly cared for?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Rural Affairs and North Wales, and Trefnydd
The Welsh Government’s #pawspreventprotect campaign reminds prospective purchasers to do their research before buying a pet. We support the work of the Pet Advertising Advisory Group, which aims to combat the irresponsible advertising of pets for sale, rehoming, and exchange. We also work closely with representative groups such as the Companion Animal Welfare Group Wales. Cats Protection is a member of both groups.
