Question
When the Minister met the Qatari Ambassador at a dinner, in what way did he "raise the significance of our values as nation", and were any specific concerns raised with the Ambassador?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Economy
During my exchange with the Qatari Ambassador to the UK, I again referenced the matters raised in my letter to him of 9 November, condemning the points made by a Qatari World Cup ambassador about LGBTQ+ rights and seeking assurance that these were not the views of the Qatari government. I also raised the issue of labour rights and set out the Welsh Government’s approach to engaging with Qatar on these matters.
