Question
Will the Minister clarify whether the Welsh Government will consider the possibility of building a third bridge to the east of Menai Bridge?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
An additional Menai crossing is being considered as part of the independent Roads Review.
We are reconsidering our full response to the Roads Review in light of the deteriorating fiscal and economic situation we have been placed in by the UK Government. The results of the Roads Review will be published in the New Year alongside our National Transport Delivery Plan.
The consultation into a third Menai crossing, which was carried out between December 2017 and March 2018, considered a number of proposed routes. Further information about the consultation is available at: A55 3rd Menai Crossing | GOV.WALES.
