Does the Welsh Government hold data on the numbers of households receiving severely mentally impaired council tax discount by condition, as well as details of which local authorities in Wales backdate the severely mentally impaired council tax discount to the date of GP certification of condition?

The Welsh Government does not hold this information.
We publish information on the number of dwellings which are exempt from council tax under the Class U exemption. Class U applies to properties occupied only by people with a severe mental impairment. In 2022-23, it is estimated that there are 5,291 dwellings in Wales which are exempt for this reason.
