Question
Will the Minister state whether Cadw’s historic building grant can be used to help owners, custodians and communities care for and maintain Wales’s historic buildings in light of the impact of flooding?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Arts and Sport, and Chief Whip
Cadw’s Historic Buildings Capital Grant Programme is focused on the repair of listed buildings at risk or in a vulnerable condition. It funds works of repair to the building’s historic fabric to prevent deterioration in condition and works of external or internal repair that support proposals to bring a building back into use. ‘New build’ such as the construction of flood defences is not eligible.
