Question
How is the Welsh Government working with the UK Government to distribute the recently announced £12.6 million for grassroots sporting facilities?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Arts and Sport, and Chief Whip
The UK Government has taken the decision to bypass the devolution agreement and award this funding directly to the Football Association of Wales (FAW) through the Internal Markets Act. However, the Welsh Government and Sport Wales have worked closely with the FAW and DCMS around the mechanism for distributing the funding to ensure this investment complements our wider activities.
