Question
What consideration has the Minister given to a seperate transport strategy for rural areas?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
Our Transport Strategy, Llwybr Newydd covers all of Wales, including rural areas. Providing access to sustainable, safe and reliable public transport is vital not only to achieving our climate change goals but to help people access the services, employment, cultural and education opportunities to help them thrive in rural areas. I was pleased to recently host a series of round tables with local authority leaders and rural transport experts from across Wales to discuss our plans and shape our approach. I will be publishing a written statement on rural transport shortly.
