Question
Will the Minister disclose how much Visit Wales spent on television adverts for the WWE Clash at the Castle worldwide television broadcast?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Economy
No TV advertising campaigns were run surrounding WWE Clash at the Castle – the event was promoted on our digital platforms.
WWE Clash at the Castle was a premium pay to view event with broadcast exclusive to paid streaming services such as Peacock in the US, BT Sport and the WWE global network.
Several minutes of dedicated Wales footage formed part of the broadcast which was the highest out of US paid to view event in WWE history. The coverage value in advertising spend would amount multiple million dollars to buy the equivalent in global viewership.
