Question
How much has the Welsh Government saved financially following the freeze on new road building projects?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
Schemes subject to the roads review were at early stages before construction budget allocation so there is no significant immediate saving. In the longer term, avoiding spending hundreds of millions of pounds expanding road capacity for cars will allow us to invest more in sustainable transport alternatives.
