Question
Will the Minister explain whether the selection panel for the chair of the Arts Council of Wales had sight of the declared political activities of the candidates before making their decision and why 100 percent of those declaring activities received an interview and only 8 percent of those without received one?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Arts and Sport, and Chief Whip
I can confirm that the political activity of applicants for the role of Chair, Arts Council of Wales was shared with the Panel members. The information is requested in the application form as standard procedure and as part of the recruitment to public appointments process.
The panel assessed all applications against the advertised criteria; candidates invited to interview met the minimum competency level for the role.
