Question
How much of the £140 million fund for active travel has been utilised so far?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
In 2022/23 the Welsh Government allocated £48.1m to local authorities for local active travel schemes through the Active Travel Fund and £4.2m for Safe Routes in Communities Schemes. We also allocated £3m to take forward schemes on the Strategic Road Network. Sustrans was allocated £200,000 to take forward improvements on the National Cycle Network under their Paths for Everyone programme. Funding allocations for 23/24 will be made in the coming weeks.
