Question
Further to WQ86716, will the Minister provide an update on the meetings of the UK Lung Check Group and the contributions made by Public Health Wales and the Minister's officials?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services
The Welsh Government has received a business case from Public Health Wales (PHW) for the development of a lung cancer screening programme in Wales which is currently under consideration. The first meeting of the UK Lung Task Group was held in December attended by both Welsh Government and PHW. The next meeting will take place at the end of April. My officials are working with UK counterparts and PHW to understand how a lung cancer screening programme could best be implemented in Wales.
