What assessment has the Minister made of the need for a holistic design structure for electricity transmission and distribution?

It is not credible to ignore the need to increase the capacity of the grid in Wales and I am determined to address the problem, as it is holding back our progress towards net zero. Our Future Energy Grids for Wales project is focused on establishing future pathways for the energy system and understanding what they mean for gas and electricity grids to identify the holistic needs of Wales. We will take the insights from that project and continue to work collaboratively with network operators and the regulator to ensure future planning takes account of the future energy needs of Wales.
