Question
Will the Minister outline what code of practice Transport for Wales use when substituting units on its routes?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
When Transport for Wales have to substitute a train allocated to a service they will first attempt to substitute it with the same class or type of train. If that is not possible they will attempt to substitute it with another train that is compliant to be able to operate on that route and where possible has the same level of capacity of the train it is replacing. In times of significant disruption Transport for Wales may have to operate the service with less capacity than they would normally do or cancel the service.
