Question
What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the reduction to the workforce in the waste industry?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
The latest published figures for the business register and employment survey are for 2021, these show that there has not been a reduction to the workforce in the waste industry in Wales.
Officials meet regularly with representatives of the waste sector and our local authority waste departments, and no major workforce issues have been flagged this year.
