Question
Further to WQ88189, when does the Minister anticipate the audit of rest facilities for drivers to be completed?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
We aim to publish a new Freight & Logistics Plan for Wales in early 2024.
The plan will be developed through joint working and consultation with key stakeholders such as The Rail Freight Group, Road Haulage Association and Logistics UK which will be essential to deliver a clear plan and direction for freight and logistics in Wales.
An audit of rest facilities for HGV drivers forms part of this work, a commitment made as part of accepting all of the Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee’s inquiry into HGV driver shortages and supply chain issues recommendations. We will look to accelerate that work and if it is completed before the plan, commit to publishing its finding in the interim.
