Question
What discussions has the Minister had with Natural Resources Wales on the risk of wildfires to windfarms on its forestry estates?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
Natural Resources Wales is an active participant in Operation Dawns Glaw, an initiative which involves partners including the Fire and Rescue Service, the Police, the Met Office and the National Parks to share intelligence about current wildfire risks and how to mitigate them. It is for National Resources Wales to use that information and assess the risk of wildfires to any windfarms on its forestry estate and discuss those risks with operators.
