Question
What action will the Minister take in response to the disclosure that £1,763,245.17 has been overpaid by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to its staff between March 2020 and April 2022?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services
Staff overpayments are a national employer payroll issue, which is administered by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership on behalf of NHS Wales organisations, there is no routine requirement for overpayments to be recouped to be reported to Welsh Government.
I have received reassurance that NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership continually review their processes to ensure that appropriate measures are put in place to minimise the risks of overpayments being made.
