Question
Will the Minister arrange for an independent review to be undertaken into the financial management of each health board in Wales, to establish what safeguards they have in place to stop overpayments to staff?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Health and Social Services
Staff overpayments are a national employer payroll issue, which is administered by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership on behalf of NHS Wales organisations, there is no routine requirement for overpayments to be recouped to be reported to Welsh Government.
I have received reassurance that NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership continually review their processes to ensure that appropriate measures are put in place to minimise the risks of overpayments being made.
