Question
Has the Welsh Government considered expanding degree apprenticeships into health and social care, in light of the NHS England long-term workforce plan?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Economy
The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) funds digital degree apprenticeships which the NHS utilises where these qualifications have applications for its staff.[1] We are working with the health boards and trusts, Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) and other interested parties to understand the wider benefits of degree apprenticeships across healthcare professions.
