Question
What assessment has the Welsh Government made of how much energy will be required in Wales in 10 years, and for every decade thereafter?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Climate Change
Alongside the consultation on our renewable energy targets we commissioned independent analysis of future Welsh energy trends with a particular focus on future electricity demand and generation trends. The following table provides the estimated electricity consumption in Wales in 2021 as published in Energy Generation in Wales 2021 and forecasts of demand based on the Climate Change Committee balanced pathway.
