Question
What steps is the Welsh Government taking to assist local planning authorities in filling vacant roles?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Finance and Local Government
The Welsh Government takes a strategic overview of workforce planning issues across the sector. We provide funding, taking into account the spending constraints imposed by UK Government, which allows local planning authorities to take their own decisions about the number of planners and other specialists that they require. In addition, through Corporate Joint Committee legislation, we have put in place the governance arrangement necessary for collaboration and sharing of resources on a regional basis.
