Question
What discussions has the Minister had with the UK Government regarding whether the section of rail track between Llandudno and Llandudno Junction will be electrified as part of the £1 billion investment in north Wales?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
I have had no contact from UK Government Ministers about their surprise announcement to electrify the North Wales Mainline. I have therefore written to the Secretary of State for Transport setting out my concerns about the lack of development work undertaken by the UK Government, and the lack of clarity on the project’s scope.
