Question
What is the deadline for ensuring that all railway station platforms in Wales will have wheelchair access?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
With the exception of the Core Valley Lines, the UK Government are responsible for rail infrastructure including accessibility to stations. We would welcome a commitment from them to deliver a fully accessible rail network with wheelchair access to all stations in Wales.
Other than Trehafod Station, all stations on the Core Valley Lines will have step free access following completion of the transformation works. We are working closely with Transport for Wales on the options to deliver step free access at Trehafod.
