Question
Will the Minister clarify the Welsh Government's policy on expanding 20mph speed limits to trunk roads following the Deputy Minster for Climate Change's comments to the Climate Change, Environment and Infrastructure Committee on 26 October 2023?
Answer
Answered by Deputy Minister for Climate Change
All highway authorities, including those who manage our trunk roads, received the same guidance from Welsh Government on how to set exceptions to the 20mph default speed limit on restricted roads.
My most recent statement on the new speed limits sets out how we are supporting highways authorities to implement the changes: https://www.gov.wales/written-statement-supporting-highway-authorities-implementation-20mph
