Question
Further to WQ89707, will the Minister confirm that the Welsh Government does not hold, and is not actively attempting to retrieve, specific data on livestock attacks and their economic consequences in Wales?
Answer
Answered by Minister for Rural Affairs and North Wales, and Trefnydd
Farmers should report all incidents of livestock attacks to the police. The Police hold this information. My officials have previously requested data, through Freedom of Information requests for the number of dog attacks recorded in each Police Force area in Wales, in preparation for the Responsible Dog Ownership Summit I hosted in October.
